"...Wilmington will have a new rabbi during the High Holy Days, 10 days which begin tonight with Rosh Hashanah and the Jewish New Year until the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, on Saturday.
Rabbi Moshe Lieblich is of the Chabad-Lubavitch tradition, one of the largest sects of Hasidic Judaism founded by 18th century Russian mystics. He moved from New York to Wilmington three months ago with his wife, Chana, and their two sons, 20-month-old Isser and 3-year-old Mendel.
The growing Jewish population here inspired the Lieblichs to move to Wilmington. They seek to follow the example of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, and to spread a more Orthodox Judaism to the Jewish people in Southeastern North Carolina..."
